Who she is
Cathy A. Lee was a faculty member in the (former) Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics. For 11 years, her lab studied the regulation of virulence genes in Salmonella typhimurium.
In 2003, Cathy closed down her lab at Harvard Medical School and took a research position with Professor Alan Grossman at MIT.
In the Grossman lab, she studied the mechanisms and regulation of horizontal gene transfer in Bacillus subtilis. After 12 years at MIT, Cathy retired.
